For once I’m going to take the opportunity to not do anything obligatory during the trip and just experience and have fun. Why is it that vacations force us to do this but incorporating into everyday life can sometimes be a challenge? I don’t want to be the person that lives for the weekends and vacations instead of relishing in everyday.
I’m excited and trying not to have any expectations but also not to worry too much – what is all this talk of E Coli? Will I get robbed? Lost? Sick? Mentally blocking those thoughts out!
I feel like I need some new perspective on my career and goals for this year and can’t wait to get out of my routine – goodbye facebook and familiar cast of life characters! I need to figure out a new timeline for screen writing and what I can be accomplished since I’ve made far less progress on this goal than I’d like to admit.
Persistence Pays Off
My trip plans almost fell through with my initial travel partner backing out. I was terrified to do this trip alone but started looking into group tours. Last year I let a lack of travel companion throw my plans down the drain. This year, I would not do it!
Around the same time my cousin came to me with an opportunity to go to Cuba for a week with her friends. I didn’t want to do an all inclusive again and with my limited vacation time, I couldn’t do europe and that trip. So I said no, voiced my euro plans to everyone and secured a new travel partner (am so excited to reconnect with an old friend). Say your wish out loud enough times, be persistent and you will get what you want. Don’t let others plans takeover your own.
Living up to The Dare List
While this isn’t a solo trip (I’m meeting a couple friends there) I will be flying alone for the first time and I did most of my own trip prepping since my parents are also away. Never mind spending some time at home doing housekeeping things. These are little steps, I know, but I hope they lead to a full out solo trip this year and more independence.
Don’t push yourself before you are ready but build your confidence up through small challenges!
I also plan to cross something from my Dare List off on this trip. Will let you know how I do.
Also plan to run into Prince Harry, Dame Judy Dench and Colin Firth. Wish me luck?

“Don’t push yourself before you are ready but build your confidence up through small challenges!”
Sounds reasonable. Baby steps. But don’t settle. Always continue to grow as you gain confidence. Have a great trip!
Thanks Angela! Cant wait to catch up on your blog when I get back
